Thank you
My mom moved 4000 miles to live with me and my husband so she wouldn't have to be in a nursing home. The adjustment was difficult for all of us and I wish I had know about your playbook then. But I have it now and it is wonderful - so validating! My mom is 95 and so precious to me. My husband and I feel so blessed to be able to care for her. Thank YOU for making it a little bit easier.

My husband has Lewy Body Dementia, the second most diagnosed dementia after Alzheimer's, and some of it's hallmark symptoms are quite different. However, all of your Tips and Strategies are applicable to most dementias. Even after one year of 24/7 caregiving, I still have anger and frustration. Your final tip in the Communication category about being calm and presenting a positive body language is so essential...I work hard at this every day, but not always successful. Thanks for giving us all of the necessary reminders to help both of us through this difficult journey. I work every day to be "a rainbow in his cloud." (taken from a Maya Angelou quote that is now my mantra).

I just heard about your playbook. I have ordered 2 one for me and the other for my mother. I just spent a week at home in PA with my parents, went to give my mother a break. I can't wait to read your book. I live 1800 miles away and cannot get my parents to move here. Hopefully this will give my mother some insite and help. We can support each other over the phone. Thank you.

Thank You
Thank you and your family for all you do. My husband and his father both have been diagnosed with Alzhiemers. My husband was diagnosed at 52 and his father now at 81. My mother in law and I just finished a "Savvy Caregiver Class" which was very helpful for both of us. I never thought I would be attending a class like this for both my husband and my father in law. I saw the Dr. Phil show and your story was so touching and loving. I know now that my love for my husband and the Lord will get me through this. They say that this disease is called the Long Goodbye. But for me I thank the Lord for everyday I wake up and my husband is next to me. I will do all I can to keep him with me as long as possible. I am not even close to saying goodbye. The website tips and strategies are a blessing and I am looking forward to reading your book, and attending one of your seminars. Again thank you and God bless!

dad seems lost
yes, i too after watching doctor phil was struck by the courage of coach broyle. Watching not only my father slip away, but also watching the saddness of my mother lossing her patner and best friend is the saddest thing ever. Much more funding for research needs to be done, but until then i will try anything to help my mom endore this day to day progression of this illness. Thank you for one more tool to maybe lighten her load, and help her understand she is not alone.

eye opening
Being from Arkansas and an avid Razorback fan, I had been aware of Coach Broyles struggles with his wife over the years. I also knew he had written a book. However, after watching the Dr. Phil Show, I realized how this book and some of its contents could greatly benefit my family. I have requested two copies of the "playbook". Thank you coach Broyles for sharing the very personal side of your life with others in an effort to help ease the pain and frustration that we are enduring. I hope that through your experiences my mother in law can find a path to help her deal with and understand our "granny".

Heartwarming
Our family are huge Razorback fans, having lived in Arkansas all my life, and we have held Coach Broyles with the highest respect for many years. In my home growing up Coach Broyles became a "household name". Now, after watching Coach Broyles on Dr. Phil last week, and seeing this amazing "gamebook" he has put together in memory of his wife, the level of respect is even higher! What a gift to the world for all the caregivers of people with Alzheimer's. This book is so "user-friendly", yet at the same time so "heartwarming". Thank you for showing the world that "family" IS what life is all about - loving and caring for them is a blessing from God. Thank you!

Thank You!
I was at the taping of the Dr. Phil show when you and your family shared your story. My dad was a big fan of yours, though I didn't know that until after the show. My family story is similar to yours. I cared for my mother for 8 years after my dad died. She had dementia, and your stories were very similar to ours. I loved your sense of humor and many of the ways you cared for your wife, I did with my mother, including eating our way through the disease!!! My mom always loved the sweets, too! I was teary through your whole story, thinking I wish I would have had your book when I was providing care for mom. My friend that attended the show with me reminded me I still needed the book, because many friends are now dealing with caring for their parents and ask me for advice. What a wonderful resource. I would never ever trade the time I had with my mom. God gave me a huge responsibility and many blessings when I was priviledged enough to take care of my mom. Keep up your sharing!!
